I HAVE the honour to transmit herewith, the Spanish text of Law 40 of 1912.* Articles 1 and 4 of this law prohibit the importation of opium into the Republic of Panamá, and its sale in any form not authorised by a medical practitioner.

Article 2 prohibits the keeping of establishments for smokers of that drug, The other articles are not quoted or translated as they regulate the penalties for infractions of the law and therefore are purely of domestic interest.
